KFVF supported Cultural Festival in Oslo

In an effort to get more involved with the local community, WFWP Norway volunteered at the Autumn Lights Art Festival in Groruddalen, Oslo. We helped promote the event online and made and served food at the opening celebration together with another organization called Bydelsmødre (an organization of mothers serving their local communities). It was a festive evening with energizing musical performances done by local professionals. We served food and drinks throughout the event and had the opportunity to give out brochures about WFWP to those interested. About 300 guests attended the event.

The opportunity to get involved came through our partnership with the Furuset public library and activity house (FUBIAK). We have previously worked with FUBIAK on Women’s Day and the Furuset Festival. In the future, we have planned even more engaging and exciting opportunities in conjunction with FUBIAK and the other organizations we are meeting through them. 

Kamzy Gunaratnam, the deputy mayor of Oslo, was one of the speakers at the event.
